Details
The CD promotes Preservation, Protection and Promotion of Indigenous languages and cultures in the form of a captivating audio.
It also gives cultural expression by spreading messages of hope to those battling with poverty and various other injustices.
It addresses themes such as leadership and social ills. It Promotes education and encourages solutions thinking and enterprising mindset. It shares how indigenous ways, which have a strong foundation on "Ubuntu" - ("no man is an island, I am because you are") had been the pillar of social cohesion.
The poetry performances by the author Babalwa Fatyi are captured in audio in the form of a CD and DVD. The production setting is the pristine natural and cultural landscapes within the Jumba Tribal Council, Eastern Cape, South Africa under King Sabata Dalindyebo.
The striking visuals are art forms on their own, capturing the essence of its people's indigenous ways. It brings an interest to indigenous norms, customs and traditions that have become lost due urbanisation amongst other reasons. The video gives a visual representation of all the features behind the poem and showcases the beautiful intriguing backdrops of the poetry performance.
We are hoping the project will bring peace, unity and strong communities thus promoting the true “Ubuntu” value system
