Our emotions influence our responses and subsequent reactions to change or to life’s experiences. For a lot of us, our formal and informal education systems did not provide the skills to navigate the changes and challenges we encounter in life.
The good thing, though, is that we can still learn it along the way, at whatever stage we are in life. I experienced this kind of learning on the Nile River—rafting without prior knowledge but with willingness to learn, change the status quo, practice, become better, and be flexible enough to let adventure in. I was a mediocre paddler, and I didn’t know how to swim—but I was willing to learn. It is out of that adventure that I am able to reflect on the metaphor of a river as our daily life.
The key lessons I took from the river raft that I have seen as key in learning and applying emotional intelligence in our lives for overall success are:
Know your course. Stay present. Don’t give power to external conditions. Adapt purposely. Have some tools and options. Team with people who are creating the results that you want. Don’t flow back on yourself: Get out of obstructions as soon as possible—your whole life still awaits you! Recharge. Flow on purpose and live. Celebrate the unsung hero inside you.

DELIVERY OPTIONS AND TIMES
We offer the following methods of delivery at the moment:
Postal delivery: We use the SA Post Office to deliver to any valid South African postal address. We will send you a tracking number by email when we dispatch your order and you should receive a post office collection slip about 7-10 days later. You can then collect the parcel from your local post office counter.
Courier: This is a door-to-door service. You must supply us with your delivery address and someone will need to be available at the address to receive the parcel. Deliveries are made during business hours from Monday to Friday. In main centres, this will reach you within 3-5 business days of dispatch. Main centres include properties within a 50km radius of the major cities in South Africa. If you are not in a main centre, it may take a few days longer. We do not deliver by courier to plots, farms, mines, military bases, major chain stores, power stations, game reserves and lodges, airports or harbours, and should your delivery address fall into one of these categories you will be liable for the extra costs incurred in delivering or returning the parcel. We offer delivery of parcels up to 10kg. Delivery on orders over 10kg is calculated based on mass, value, and number of items in the order.
Collection: You can also collect your parcel from our office in Midrand.
